DOGZILLA is a visual AI robot dog with 12 degrees of freedom, mainly composed of 6 servos, aluminum alloy brackets, and a camera. It can flexibly complete a series of bionic actions and achieve omni-directional movement and six dimensional attitude control. DOGZILLA is equipped with IMU and servo angle sensors, which can provide real-time feedback on its own posture and joint angles. Combined with inverse kinematics algorithms, achieves various motion gaits. Raspberry Pi as its main controller, with additional configurations such as lidar and voice module. Through Python programming, based on the ROS2 system, many functions such as AI visual recognition, lidar mapping navigation, and voice control can be achieved.

  • S1/S2 is easily completed based on ROS2 and OpenCV, with functions such as label recognition, face detection, target tracking, and visual line patrol.
  • S2 comes with a lidar and intelligent voice module, which can achieve functions such as mapping navigation, lidar avoiding and following, and voice control.

This robot dog can complete basic movements such as walking and turning, and responds very promptly. The overall workmanship is also good, the material feels very solid, there is no abnormal sound during exercise, and the gait is natural.

But it does need to be improved in some details.

First of all, there are some problems with logistics. Although the goods were finally received smoothly, they were delayed for a few days. The product packaging is very tight, and there is no damage after unpacking. Especially when setting up and debugging the system, some more professional knowledge is required. For entry-level users like me, it took a lot of time to figure it out.

Logistics:
Although it was a day later than expected, I was very satisfied with it overall. The courier was very professional and put the package at the designated location and delivered it to me intact.

Packaging:
The packaging is very intact, with a thick carton on the outside and foam protection on the inside, but the packaging of some small parts can be more refined. In general, there is no damage problem, and the modules and accessories are very complete.

Service:
"The customer service response speed is good. Although it did not reply to me immediately, the customer service still gave me timely answers when I asked questions, especially some minor problems encountered when installing the Raspberry Pi. Their guidance allowed me to solve the problems smoothly, which is quite efficient.

Quality:
The quality of the mechanical dog is not bad, the structure is solid, the working condition of the motor is also very stable, and the movement is flexible. The only drawback is that there is occasional slight jamming, which may be due to improper setting of some parameters in programming.

Delivery was good.

Yahboom delivery speed is really fast, and I want to start it as soon as possible, but I haven't received the Raspberry Pi board I purchased from another store yet. Lol

The overall is OK, but there are some shortcomings.

First of all, I am not very satisfied with the logistics. Although the delivery speed is fast, the outer packaging is a little worn during transportation, as shown in the picture. When I opened it, I was a little worried whether the accessories inside were intact. Although there was no damage after the final inspection, this still made me a little uneasy.
Although the packaging is simple, the internal division is well done, and the accessories are all complete without omission.
Speaking of quality, the shell and structural materials of the robot dog look good and give people a relatively strong feeling.

Tomorrow I will take it to my laboratory and start my project. I will contact technical support for any questions, and I hope they can get back to me as soon as possible.

  • hi, i'm Ignacio From Chile. i bought a dogzilla and i was using it all normal, but after its battery ran out, after charger it no longer stand up normally, one of their legs is totally contracted, and 2 legs are not responding (the 2 left legs) the front right leg is totally contracted and the right back leg seems normal. i find a calibration file but i no want run it until you can answer me if is safe run the file or looks like other issue i hope that you can help with this pls thx for reading me

  • Can it be used with a Jetson Nano, instead of a Raspberry pi? Do you offer the codes for Jetson Nano, if it's any different?

    This Robot dogs don't support Raspberry Pi. All the codes and tutorials we provide are based on Raspberry Pi, which is incompatible with Jetosn NANO.
    Because the size of the Jetson NANO is too large to be installed on the mechanical dog, we chose a smaller rRaspberry Pi.

  • Can the robot climb a step? (i.e. can it walk up a staircase)? If so, what is the max height of the step it can climb? (i.e. How tall is the tallest object it can walk on it)

    Yes. You can use Raspberry Pi 3. But  some complex algorithms and video transmission may get stuck. Because the calculation capacity of 3B board is lower than that of 4B board.
