The front left wheel always falls off. I adjusted it multiple times and even filled it with some paper, but got the same result.

I have received the shipment package and all is good.

The shipping of the package was faster than I thought, I just received it and I am opening it, if the pictures show everything looks good.
I will take it to the lab tomorrow and start our project with my partners, wish us good luck, the instruction manual provides an email address for technical support, which looks helpful.

Interesting ROS2 Courses nice hands-on model(s)

Last weekend I got it running from the manual device.
On a laminate floor it lost its left rear wheel within 5 minutes :-(
At first sight accompanying seem more up to date than this of Dogzilla which I ordered recently. As in above phrase there is no reference for the Docker container it is running in in case of Rpi 5. Given the course ware for it I really had a struggle to get anything up and running on the Dogzilla image. Since accu life time is less than an hour and reloading about 5 hours, it not realistic to experiment on that setup. So, I had to put it on the self :-( … (for now).

So, have a single sensor (for which I ordered the IMU) and you can experiment on a RPi 5 connected to the power-line … right? No, ROS2 examples won’t work at all. OK but there is a plain simple python test program that can run straight from Bookworm … nothing at all! After deciphering the code I rewrote the test program and adjusted the device it connects to. Now it runs on plain bookworm as well as within a Docker container.

I noticed references to video instructions but these are mostly in Chinese only …
Not really helpful to me. Having some grounds in mechanical engineering and computer science and being prepared to master the monsters I will learn a lot from these packages. But there is room for improvement. There are flaws in documentation and coding, typo’s as well as some code which seems obsoleted.

I do like the ROS2 series but at this stage I am happy that I did not ordered the ROSMASTER X3 PLUS with Jetson Orin NX 16 GB which I targeted. It cost a lot and I’ve some doubts about getting all code running on the Jetson Orin.

Ps. Thanks for providing a new (EU connector instead of US) for my Dogzilla (ordered via AliExpres). The Robot Car has an adapter which solves the problem as well. But I’m not convinced that it as save as it should be. Haven’t checked but I’m afraid that connections with the 230 circuit are open at the backside. I can life with it but not applicable for ‘public’(in school/training) use. Further more it would be fine if adapters would be exchangeable between packages instead of robot specific.

Rgds., Kees

First of all, the assembly instructions are very detailed and I assembled it very quickly. Secondly, the driving part of the car is a bit unstable when operating, especially when programming control, and occasionally there will be slow response or insensitive steering.

Although it is generally good, especially for learning programming and robot control, it is very helpful, but I think some details need to be improved, such as providing a stable driver.

Thanks for your sharing. Your photography skills are top-notch.
