PALMSLAM Handheld LiDAR Scanner
PALMSLAM is a handheld lidar mapping scanner device that is compatible with 5 common lidars: EAI X3 Pro, EAI T-mini plus, SLAM C1, Oradar MS200, EAI 4ROS. These 5 lidars have different prices and performances. Users can choose the lidar configuration that suits them according to their own usage environment or project requirements. PALMSLAM comes with a expansion board that integrates an ESP32 processor and a 6-axis IMU sensor. The lidar data is transmitted to the host device through microROS wireless communication technology to view the mapping effect in real time. 6-axis IMU monitors the holding posture in real time to ensure that PALMSLAM remains horizontal during mapping and obtains more accurate data. Compared with traditional mapping on computer or vehicle-mounted lidar mapping solutions, PALMSLAM is more flexible, portable, and easy to operate. It is an ideal choice for fast and accurate mapping.

Using MicroROS wireless communication technology:
The lidar expansion board with ESP32 processor, and can transmit the lidar data to the host computer (such as: PC virtual machine, Raspberry Pi, Jetson NANO, RDK development board) through MicroROS's WiFi-UDP wireless communication. Yahboom provides complete supporting documentation and corresponding ROS2-HUMBLE system image.
Built-in long-life battery:
Equipped with a 7.4V 2000mah battery pack, the power supply is stable and can be used continuously for 4 hours.
IMU tilt warning/OLED display information:
The lidar expansion board with 6-axis IMU chip. If PALMSLAM tilts during the mapping, there will be a buzzer alarm prompt (the alarm tilt angle can be set by the user). Ensure that PALMSLAM remains level during mapping to obtain more accurate data.
Can installmobile phones/iOS and Android APP:
PALMSLAM comes with a rotating mobile phone holder. After installing the mobile phone and APP, users can view the specific situation in real time on the mobile phone APP while mapping.

Hello, in what format is the point cloud generated by the device generated and can it be downloaded for use in specialized modeling software?

Is the connection to the mobile app immediate or does it require some programming? Can we download maps directly from the mobile app, and if so, in what formats?

Thank you for your patience.
It requires running the corresponding commands. The app will save the map directly to the virtual machine. The map is a grid map, in YAML and PGM format.

Does the PALMSLAM Handheld LiDAR Scanner for mapping (SKU: 6000200674) come with 25M version of EAI T-mini plus Lidar (SKU: 6000301858) and if not can I buy the without lidar option SKU: 6000200680 and buy it separately and connect it?

The PALMSLAM Handheld LiDAR Scanner for mapping (SKU: 6000200674) comes with the 12M version of the EAI T-mini plus LiDAR, not the 25M version.
If you require the 25M T-MINI-Plus LiDAR (SKU: 6000301858), you can purchase the PALMSLAM without the LiDAR option and purchase the 25M T-MINI-Plus LiDAR (SKU: 6000301858) separately.

Can we customize the PALMSLAM by purchasing the LIDAR separately ? I am interested in the RPLIDAR S3 with 40m radius. So, is it possible to configure it in the PALMSLAM Handheld lidar ?
hi, we are sorry that the RPLIDAR S3 (40m radius) is not compatible with the PALMSLAM handheld lidar. We do not recommend purchasing so.
