Is it possible to access the Omniduino Robot remotely over the internet. For example can the robot connect to my house network and maybe through an open port in the router receive commands from a remote phone or computer. If not do you have tutorials how to access the robot via wifi, so that I can create my own app ? My goal is to drive these around my house and check on things when I am not home. At present, Omniduino cannot achieve such a function. You can only remotely control it through the hotspot that comes with the WiFi camera.
But we have some other robots that can achieve this function. You can make them connect to the WiFi at home and view the pictures taken by the camera in real time and control it.
Before that, you must ensure that your device and the car are in the same local area network.

This tiny (4.5" by 4.5") robot might be small but it is well-designed and assembles easily. There are several videos available as well as a small booklet for assembly instructions. The robot should be purchased for ages 12+ to adults as it is not a toy. It interfaces well with my phone and the camera's tilt can be controlled by a small slide switch image on the phone's screen. The camera image is very clear on the screen. I bought it to study omni-directional movements for a robot, as I had always used 'differential' steering for previous robots. The only negative that I found was the 18650 batteries discharged too fast.
Versatile for its price and size, the Omniduino is great for someone with a bit of experience in C language programming to enhance their skills. The website has fairly thorough documentation on how the programs work, which is helpful for those looking to understand the software that the bot can run. Although a part on my robot arrived damaged, customer support was helpful and ordered replacement parts. Overall, this is a good buy for someone looking to practice with the Arduino IDE or who wants to have fun driving the robot through a smartphone app.
Overall this is a fun little unit, great for the price, super customizable, and great for intermediate/advanced hackers/hobbyists.
I bought him because it has MPU6050 and provides programs on PID algorithm.
I want to learn these. I have been using it for half a month and everything looks fine.
